Welcome to Saint Mary’s Church, Harborne, Birmingham, UK.
“Before all else, live together in harmony, being of one mind and one heart on the way to God.” St. Augustine.
This is the main body of our new church. One of the focal points in any Catholic Church is the
Tabernacle and the new church is designed so that one’s eyes come to rest automatically on the Tabernacle, which is placed directly behind the altar. The sculpture of the new Adam, the Risen Christ,
the Resurrection, which fills the apse behind the Tabernacle is about new life. It represents the
fulfilment of Jesus’ own words: “ I am the Resurrection and the Life; whoever believes in me, though
he shall die, will come to Life; and whoever is alive and believes in me will never die.” (John 11.26)
A Welcome Message.
A very sincere welcome to all our internet visitors. We are a Roman Catholic Augustinian Community situated to the South West of Birmingham City Centre in Harborne. We are a very welcoming community and can offer many things both spiritual and temporal.
We have a significant history in this part of Birmingham (see our page - “History of St. Mary’s”) and we are continuing to grow, so that we can continue to bring the message of the Risen Christ to all whom we come into contact with, and especially now through the technology of the internet.
We do hope that you enjoy your visit to our web site and find it useful and informative; and if you are in this part of South West Birmingham, please do come in and visit us.
